A little excursion up to the legendary Matakana Village Farmer's Market was the perfect thing for a sunny Saturday morning. We left home bright and early on empty stomachs and were spoilt for choice when we arrived – there were tarts, pies, raw juices, crepes, baklava, nutbutters, craft beers, locally grown produce, and much more... all fresh and delicious. And while there was no dog food for sale, Juno certainly left satisfied!
You see, no matter where we take Juno, people swarm around her to say hello... and Juno can't get enough! Between stopping for pats and chats, we just strolled around the stalls, sampling the great food and admiring the countryside. If you're going to go, try to get there earlier rather than later – it's a pretty popular spot for lunch! The Matakana Village Farmer's Market is open on Saturdays, 8am–1pm.
